Welcome to Das Tier. If you're interested in joining, or you've already joined, this is the first place you should go to. In this board you'll find all the must-reads, like the plot and the rules, plus some handy optional threads that contain extra information.
Just like the name implies, things involving characters will be situated here; application form, accepted, pending and rejected character forms, and everything but the character directory - that's in the info board. Make sure you've read the plot, rules, and any other important threads before you post here.
When your character is accepted, you can post here with a lovely little plot for your character. Whether you want to go all-out with colours or keep it simple, add all your favourite song lists or keep it impersonal, this board is handy for planning the future of your character and keeping everyone entertained with a storyline to follow.
Pounding, rushing, roaring water cascades with violent speed down the sheer wall of rock which abruptly ends the mountain. The steady rhythm of the water reaching its final destination, the pool beneath the falls, creates a heartbeat for the land. The water is pure, crystal clear, the river overhead comprised of melted drops from the snow at the peak of the mountain, as well as various glaciers along the way. This place can be dangerous, beautiful, peaceful, or terrifying. No matter what, there is something mystical in the surrounding atmosphere.
By far the most modern-looking building as far as the eye can see, the appartment complex consists of not one but two floors, and is actually under renovations. Each floor has five rooms, and the owner of the building lives in a little cabin slightly away from the 'high-rise'. Each room consists of a main room, a bedroom and a bathroom except one, which has two bedrooms. Each room has a different colour scheme which is displayed by the wall paint, the tiles in the bathroom and kitchen area, and the complimentary towel provided by the apartment owner's wife.
These homes, each one well apart from its neighbours, in such away that they seem to have been built willy-nilly where ever their builder felt like building them, are not connected by a main rain. Not even a dirt path. There are slightly worn down trails of grass leading to each from door, and the grass is shorter and weaker where people have walked, but all in all the houses are virtually unconnected. To a person from our side of the mirror, it would, in all likelihood, look extremely disorganised. The houses are simply built, one storey with a stone foundation, wooden walls, and carefully water-proofed roofs. They are generally brightly coloured.
The grass of this meadow is a bright colour of green rarely seen on Earth. The area is broad and flat, and the vegetation is closely cropped by livestock, from cows to horses to sheep, who roam the valley freely day and night. Trees are kept off the pasture for the most part, but for the sake of shade one or two dot the otherwise unblemished surface. Rocks have been carefully removed and placed at the edges of the meadow, creating a type of low wall. The expanse of the Velta Meadow is so vast it takes about two hours to cross from one side to the opposite.
Somehow the dark grey rock, which should be, according to the rules of colours and emotions, dull, manages to make itself seem livid, strong, and immovable. Physically, this is perfectly natural. But the mountain somehow has a personality. Maybe it's because of the way the colour reminds one of a violently stormy sky. Sparse yellow grass pokes its way up out of little patches of dirt which cling desperately to nooks in the mountain's face. The higher you climb, the colder it gets, and snow appears. Pools of water on the stony surface are common, and closer to the top they become thin sheets of ice.
This library is ancient; it is so ancient that no one is sure when it was even built. But the volumes contained by its shelves date so far back that certain tomes are simply turning to dust from age. Immense efforts have been made to save the massive collection of books, but there are simply too many to preserve them all. The amount of knowledge held within these walls is unfathomable. One-of-a-kind texts wait to be discovered around every corner, covering every subject from love to hate to life to death and back again.
A gaping mouth in the side of the mountain, a mile or two to the west of the waterfall, the cave lies. Its yawning entrance seems to draw you toward it. Light the filters in from strange, inexplicable cracks and holes in the roof of passageway even to the deepest point, but somehow manages to retain its comforting essence, despite the fact it might suggest instability in the rock. Water drips from the walls, from stalactites on the ceiling, and streams from the end of the tunnel that squeeze their way through tiny pores in the wall. The creepy atmosphere of the cave is not so strong as some might assume.
Delicacies abound. For those who need a break from the domestic life, or are simply too lazy to be bothered to make their own food, can come here and be served. The menu icludes an astounding variety of meals that hail from all four corners of the world, and the cooks behind the counter will humour you by trying their hand at any challenge you present them with. Even if they're unable to create exactly what you wanted, chances are what they serve you will be pretty damn good. These chefs are passionate about what they do, and are usually trained from a young age to work at the globally acclaimed restaurant.
